National and international companies have expressed interest in the technical solutions offered by Naranjo Intelligent Solutions (NIS), a comapny supported by the Andalusian Government and owner, alongside the Andalusian Healthcare Service (SAS) of the patent for iPharma, a system for dispensing drugs at hospitals.

Technological solutions designing the Granada company have attracted the interest of other economic sectors of the country and the international market since the patent shared with the Andalusian Health Service (SAS) iPharma, a dispenser of drugs that also controls drug stock, has started its marketing phase.

Territorial delegates of Economy and Healthcare, Juan Jose Martin Arcos and Higinio Almagro, have advanced the interest of other companies during a visit to the Pharmacy Unit of the University Hospital of San Cecilio, where NIS develops the dispensing system, management and control of drugs in collaboration with researchers of the hospital complex and the Institute of Biomedical Research.

The iPharma system offers cost savings and improves patient safety, which has captured the interest of health firms, but also from other such diverse sectors such as textiles or tourism.

The technology-based company and supported by the Andalusian Government has received several orders, according to Martin Arcos, to develop software tailored to those sectors.

So, they will design the system that allows textile companies share information in real time of their orders, reservations, sales or estimation of materials for manufacturing.

NIS, which is housed at the Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CADE) of Granada and winner of Andalucia Emprende 2014 Award, is also preparing a solution for the tourism sector with a platform of multiservice communication that allow businesses linked to this activity to be better positioned.

The CEO of the company, Jaime Matas, explained that although it’s still under development, “we found that this platform will allow companies to make visible every service related to this type of tourism, such as to reserve hammocks on line in Andalusian beaches”.

The territorial delegate of Health, Higinio Almagro, has detailed the patent iPharma is currently being marketed after proving their “feasibility, effectiveness and efficiency”, having already interested the national hospital public system and private and foreign markets.
